Professional Focus

Dr. Krieg is a Clinical Professor and Staff Physician who has supervised many residents and fellows in his years at UCSF. In his clinical practice he treats patients with gastro-intestinal cancer, lung cancer, lymphoma and testicular cancer. There is a particularly large experience at UCSF in the management of anal cancer. IMRT is used as appropriate.

His current research focuses on organ preservation in GI and GU cancers. He is participating in a Phase II study of TN Ferade TM Biologic with 5FU-radiation therapy for first line treatment of unresectable locally advanced pancreatic cancer and is a co-investigator in the timing of rectal cancer response to pre-op chemoradiation. He is also involved in the investigation of the role of pre-op chemoradiation for local excision of T2 rectal cancers.
