Shanti Project Care Navigator
Kristina joined the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center in December 2016 as part of the multidisciplinary team. As a Shanti community-based Care Navigator, Kristina provides tailored, community-based and peer support care navigation to underserved population being treated at the Mt. Zion location. Her goal is to help reduce isolation, help patients be able to complete their treatment by addressing barriers, and increase patient and provider satisfaction.
Kristina joined Shanti's Margot Murphy Women's Cancer Program in January 2016. She has been working in various aspects in the mental health field since 2003. Prior to joining Shanti, she worked with adolescents, elderly, and foster care and adoption clients. She has held several roles over the years, ranging from Direct Care Provider to Supervisor and Program Manager, to Trainer, and business owner of a massage therapy and Reiki and coaching practice.
In December 2016 she earned her licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist and when not performing Care Navigation with Shanti Project, she works in her private practice. Kristina loves salsa, stand-up comedy, and making people laugh. She is fluent in both English and Russian.
