Meet Dr. Chen

Bent on bringing better cancer tests and treatments to patients.

Dr. Chen received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his MD from Yale School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine internship at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco and his residency in Radiation Oncology at UCSF. Dr. Chen leads a lab focused on developing and validating biomarkers in prostate cancer using genomics and AI. He is a recipient of the Department of Defense Prostate Cancer Research Program Physician Research Award and Prostate Cancer Foundation Young Investigator Award. He is also a Core faculty member of the UCSF Biological and Medical Informatics (BMI) program. His clinical practice includes genitourinary malignancies, with a particular focus on locally-advanced, recurrent, and oligometastatic prostate cancer.
