Meet Dr. Liu

I am driven to deliver exceptional patient care by advancing cutting-edge technologies and fostering education.

Dr. Xiaoyu Liu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at UCSF. She earned her PhD in Biomedical Physics from UCLA and is an ABR board-certifieid clinical radiation medical physicist with 15 years of experience at Kaiser Permanente. With a diverse background spanning Medical Physics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Liu is passionate about multidisplinary research. Her current research focuses on the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on medical physics practices and the job status of medical physicists. She serves as the Vice Chair of the CAMPEP Education Committee and Chair of AAPM Task Group 432. Dr.Liu is deeply committed to promoting education within the medical physics commnuity.
