Professional Focus
Dr. Julian Hong specializes in the treatment of genitourinary malignancies. He has expertise in modern radiation therapy techniques including intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image guided radiation therapy (IGRT), and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT).
His informatics research program focuses on the development and implementation of computational tools in the clinic to provide personalized, precision cancer care for patients. His lab combines clinical domain knowledge with data science expertise to generate insights from real world data, develop actionable machine learning tools, and evaluate the benefit of these advances in patient care.
Dr. Hong serves on the NRG national cooperative group Cancer Care Delivery Research (CCDR) Committee. He is also a member of the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Science Education and Program Development Subcommittee and the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) Informatics Summit Scientific Program Committee.
