Meet Dr. Lyu

I am motiviated to use physics and computation to invent novel treatment techniques and advance cancer care.

Dr. Lyu is an Assistant Professor in Residence at the UCSF Department of Radiation Oncology. She received her bachelor’s degree in physics from Nanjing University in 2016, and her PhD in Medical Physics from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2021. From 2021 to 2023, she received clinical training from the UCLA Medical Physics Residency Program. Her research focuses on image reconstruction, dual-energy CT, treatment plan optimization, machine learning, etc. Dr. Lyu developed optimization algorithms that open new dimensions in image-guided radiotherapy.
