More than 100 faculty and trainees from UCSF Radiation Oncology and UCSF Radiology & Biomedical Imaging gathered on October 30th for a joint research symposium focused on Theranostics, Physics, and Radiobiology held in Mission Bay.

The symposium brought faculty and researchers together from the two departments to share emerging research and explore opportunities for collaboration. The program featured 17 presentations spanning basic and translational science to clinical trials combining radiopharmaceutical therapy / external beam radiation therapy, DNA damage and repair / dose measurements, radiation-induced signaling and the tumor microenvironment, and radiochemistry / alpha emitters.

Opening remarks from Drs. Catherine Park (Chair, Radiation Oncology) and Christopher Hess (Chair, Radiology) set the stage for a morning of scientific exchange, with panel discussions.

The symposium highlighted the research underway across both departments and the potential for continued collaboration at the intersection of imaging, radiation oncology, radiopharmaceutical therapy, physics, and cancer biology. See Full Agenda here. Photos Folder (MyAccess Required)
